Aloha journal
Evidence-based writing on molecular hydrogen.
Deep, honest, well-cited articles on what hydrogen-rich water actually does — and doesn't do. Written for real people who want signal, not supplement-marketing noise.
What you'll find here
The molecular hydrogen (H2) category is exploding — and most of what's written about it online is either marketing copy or conspiracy-theory-tier skepticism. The Aloha journal takes a middle path: we read the actual peer-reviewed literature, pull out what the trials found, and translate it into plain English for people who want to make informed choices.
Every article on this page follows the same standard: cited claims, conservative interpretations, honest limits, and no promises the science doesn't support. If you want a five-minute read on why your fitness-influencer favorite biohacker is talking about hydrogen water, or you want a deep dive into what H2 does to HbA1c in adults with pre-diabetes, we have you covered.
The four evidence tiers we use
When you see an evidence tag on an article, this is what it means:
- Strongest evidence — multiple randomized human trials of reasonable size point in the same direction (metabolic health lives here).
- Promising — smaller human trials show consistent effects, but sample sizes are still under 100 (inflammation and CRP reduction live here).
- Mixed — some trials show a benefit, others don't (exercise recovery lives here — 24-hour soreness reduction yes, 48-hour no).
- Weak / emerging — pilot studies only, or controlled trials show no clear effect (mood, sleep, and cognitive benefits live here as of 2026).

How Aloha writes about science
Every article you read here is written to the following bar:
- Every clinical claim cites a paper. Not a blog post, not an influencer video — an actual PubMed-indexed peer-reviewed study. If we can't cite one, we don't make the claim.
- Study limits are called out plainly. "Small sample size," "short duration," "no placebo control" — we say it when it matters, even when it makes our own product look less magical.
- Aloha doesn't make medical claims. This is a dietary supplement, not a drug. If you're managing a diagnosed condition, our articles will always tell you to talk to your doctor first.
- We update as new evidence lands. Every article has a dateModified, and when a larger trial changes what we know, we edit rather than leaving stale claims in place.
This isn't optional — it's the reason the blog exists. Molecular hydrogen has real, measurable effects in specific populations. Pretending otherwise gets brands into trouble and readers into disappointment. We'd rather be trusted than trendy.
